Wheel Testing
After final machining the repaired wheels were sent to the 704th Test Group at the Air Force Landing Gear Test Facility to be fully assembled and then subjected to following sequence of tests to evaluate the performance of the repair.
- Straight Roll – 10 miles
- Normal Energy Stops – 5 stops
- Overload Energy Stop – 1 stop
- Combined Loads Roll Outboard – 5 miles
- Combined Loads Roll Inboard – 5 miles
- Normal Energy Stops – 5 stops
- Overload Energy Stop – 1 stop
- Combined Loads Roll Outboard – 5 miles
- Combined Loads Roll Inboard – 5 miles
